Sophie Rae loves gliding a paintbrush across a smooth surface, transforming bland grey walls into beautiful works of art. It is truly where she gets in the flow. She loves working on walls outside and in, large scale murals as well as smaller ones. She’s painted murals in gardens, cafes, bars, restaurants, offices, schools, shop and high street facades and hoardings, to name a few.

SOPHIE’S VISION

Sophie loves to use shapes and colour to transform environments. Sometimes she draws inspiration from plants, layering, enlarging, and playing with abstraction until a sweet balanced composition emerges. Sometimes it’s more geometric and abstract forms. Whatever the motif her final designs are balanced and contemporary.
The aim is to create a space that is totally unique, with lots of character. An inspiring place to be in. We know our surroundings affect our mood and wellbeing. A space you walk past or sit in everyday doesn’t need to be thought provoking, but decorative and stylish. Well considered design shows care has been taken to make a space feel good, to make you feel good. That’s what drives us.

Sophie Rae had the pleasure of working with Vanfolk to produce two unique pieces of artwork that were printed onto vinyl and wrapped around one of their vans. A van which they hire out for people to take on adventures and get lost in. Maybe your van could get the Sophie Rae treatment next?
Digital artwork can be created to be printed onto vinyl which can be used for various purposes. Not just vans, but also large shop windows, small windows, glass division walls or as part of an office refurbishment. Choose to support a local artist and get something that is super unique.

PRINTMAKER AND WORKSHOP FACILITATOR

As well as mural painting Sophie creates beautiful prints, lovingly handcrafted, without using a press. Shapes are sketched and then cut into stencils. A roller then applies ink in the gaps. This helps give each print its irregularities.
